Interlibrary
Loan
When the Brennan Library does not own an item,
we can request it from another library. Patrons can use the library
catalog and use the "request" button to order materials
owned at other Minuteman libraries. Alternatively, Lasell patrons may
fill out ILL forms and the library staff will request materials on their
behalf.
Turnaround
Time
Turnaround
time for ILL requests varies and cannot be guaranteed, since it depends
largely on factors beyond our control such as shipping time, and response
speed of lending libraries. Requests within the Minuteman network usually
arrive within three working days. Article requests usually take
about a week, but vary widely, sometimes arriving by fax within a couple
days, and sometimes taking a few weeks due to slow shipping, or difficulty
finding a lender.
Start
your research early! Submit your ILL requests in advance!

Circulation
Library
Cards
The
Lasell student ID is also your library card for the Brennan Library
and all the other Minuteman
Libraries. All students must have a valid student ID in order
to check out materials. Patrons need a library card number (2301500_
_ _ _ _ _ _ ) to access many of our online databases and to request
materials online from other libraries.
If
you are a member of the Lasell community and do not yet have a valid
library card, fill out this form and bring it into the Library:

Renewals
An
item
may be renewed UNLESS there is a prior request for it. Patrons
can renew some materials online by going into the catalog
and logging into "my account".
Borrowing
Limits
In
order to insure that there are sufficient materials available
for our students, we have established the following circulation policies
to limit the borrowing of materials:
- A
patron may borrow up to 5 items on any one subject at a time.
- A
patron may borrow a total of 10 items per day.
Fines, Charges, Penalties
Lasell
students are charged fines only for the following:
- Overdue
materials borrowed from other libraries
- Overdue
Lasell material returned at other MLN libraries
- Overdue
reserve items and AV equipment.
If
a students borrowing status is delinquent, borrowing privileges
will be suspended until the delinquency is cleared. Neither transcripts
nor grades will be given to students who have not cleared up their library
record, and they will not be allowed to register for classes for the
next semester. If any library material is damaged or stolen, the consequences
are described in the Academic Integrity Policy of the Student Handbook.

Reserve
Room
Lasell faculty and staff members may request to have items
placed on reserve for the current semester by filling out a reserve
request form and signing a copyright agreement. Most books, articles,
and videos on reserve circulate for two hours at a time and cannot be
removed from the library.
To
place items on reserve, bring them to the library with a Reserve Request
form, and a Copyright Clearance Form (left). Items owned by the Brennan
Library, and professors personal copies of items can go on reserve,
but materials borrowed from other libraries cannot go on reserve.
The
reserve room also has a selection of instructional VHS and DVD films
kept on permanent reserve due to high demand among our faculty.
Search
the reserve room - click here to access the reserves section of
our online catalog and search by professor, course number, or course
title!
